My research interest is in the development of mass spectrometry based high throughput techniques for functional proteomics research. Our research is mainly focused on the physiological mechanism of Ubiquitin-proteasome system in the cardiac problems. Ubiquitin-protesome system is not only the major pathway to remove the damaged or mistranslated protein, but also responsible for the regulation and turnover of many critical proteins which are involved with multiple cellular functions, including inflammatory response and cell apoptosis. Ischemia/reperfusion puts severe effects on the cardiac tissue through ubiquitin-proteasome regulation in which the detailed mechanism is not fully understood.
